One of China's first best-selling EV: Zeekr 001 gets a 5-yr anniversary edition

Geely's premium electric brand Zeekr has released a limited-edition version of its flagship 001 shooting brake to mark five years since the model entered the Chinese market, ahead of an April 10, 2026 launch event in China.

The 001 5th Anniversary Edition arrives as Zeekr — formerly listed on the NYSE under the ticker ZK before going private as a wholly owned Geely subsidiary in December 2025 — stages one of its busiest product weeks in recent memory, also launching refreshed versions of the 007 sedan and 007 GT shooting brake on the same date.

The anniversary car is built on the same 900V high-voltage architecture introduced across the 001 lineup in October 2025. It draws power from a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system producing a peak output of 680 kW (912 hp), enabling a 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph) sprint in 2.91 seconds and a top speed of 280 km/h (174 mph).

A 103 kWh CATL Qilin ternary NMC battery supplies the energy, supporting 6C fast charging that takes the pack from 10% to 80% in around 10 minutes. Claimed range under the CLTC cycle is 680 km (423 miles).

The anniversary edition is distinguished from standard 001 variants primarily through the FR-Line exterior and interior package — a styling vocabulary borrowed from the 2023 001 FR performance model that originally showcased track-level hardware on an 800V platform.

Exterior additions include red badges, 22-inch forged wheels shod with Pirelli P Zero tires, a carbon-fiber rear spoiler, a blackened roof, and Glacier Silver as the exclusive body color.

Six-piston Brembo brake calipers come standard, as does KW-made coilover suspension — a notable hardware upgrade that Zeekr says required three years of calibration by the German suspension specialist using a 7-Post Rig test bench. The system offers 16-level rebound and 12-level compression damping adjustment, with a ride height adjustment range of 35 mm.

Inside, the FR-Line treatment extends to red Alcantara leather front seats with black checkered-flag stitching, contrast-stitched rear seats finished in black with matching flag accents, a suede-covered ceiling, red seatbelts, and red detailing across the center console and steering wheel. A 29-speaker audio setup and FR-Line badging on the headrests and door sills complete the cabin.

Driver assistance is handled by Zeekr's G-Pilot H7 system, combining a LiDAR sensor with an Nvidia Drive Thor-U chip rated at 700 TOPS of compute.

The 001 debuted in October 2021 as both Zeekr's inaugural model and the first mass-produced electric shooting brake from a domestic Chinese automaker. The platform underpinning it — Geely's Sustainable Experience Architecture — is shared with the Polestar 4 and Lynk & Co Z10.

The model has accumulated 301,720 domestic deliveries through February 2026, having set a monthly record of 14,383 units in June 2024. The 001 is also sold in Europe, Central Asia, and Mexico.

Zeekr's shooting brake lineup ranked first globally in cumulative sales for the 2021–2025 period, according to a market study by automotive research firm JATO Dynamics, with combined family deliveries surpassing 350,000 units by the end of March 2026.

The brand as a whole posted 29,318 units in March 2026, a 90% year-on-year increase, bringing first-quarter deliveries to 77,037 units — up 86% from the prior year period.

Pricing for the anniversary edition has not been announced and is expected at the April 10 event. The standard 2026 001 lineup, for context, ranges from 269,800 CNY to 329,800 CNY (c. $39,200 to c. $47,900), with the anniversary variant expected to carry a premium given its hardware differentiation.

The April 10 launch is timed ahead of the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, one of the year's most commercially significant showcases for the Chinese EV industry.

Whether five years of near-annual updates — from 536 hp in 2021 to 912 hp today — signals a model nearing the ceiling of its platform, or simply one that refuses to let it go, may become clearer once Zeekr's next product cycle takes shape.

Conversion rate: 1 USD = 6.88 CNY as of April 3, 2026
