iCar V25 undercuts sibling Jetour Traveller 7 C-DM with 139,800 CNY pre-sale

Chery's (HKEX: 9973) iCar brand opened pre-sales for its V25 on October 19, 2026, with four versions priced from 139,800 to 175,800 CNY (c. $20,801 to $26,158). The boxy, mid-size extended-range SUV arrives five days after Jetour, another Chery brand, launched the Traveller 7 C-DM plug-in hybrid at 152,900 to 172,900 CNY (c. $22,750 to $25,726).
Jetour's limited-time launch price for the C-DM starts at 143,900 CNY (c. $21,411), which leaves the V25's pre-sale floor 4,100 CNY (c. $610) lower. V25 buyers pay a 1,000 CNY deposit that counts as 3,000 CNY (c. $149 and $446) toward the final balance, plus a 2,000 CNY credit (c. $298) for selected modification packages. The V25 comes in rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions, and its prices are pre-sale figures that iCar can still change at launch.

The V25 keeps the retro, boxy design of the smaller V23 but stretches it to 4,636 mm long, 1,920 mm wide and 1,855 mm tall on a 2,820 mm wheelbase. It rides on 21-inch wheels with 265 mm tires, with 197 mm of ground clearance and a 600 mm maximum wading depth. A side-hinged tailgate opens to 88 degrees and carries a 22.7-liter storage box on the outside. Cargo space runs from 998 to 1,549 liters, and iCar counts 41 storage spots in the cabin.

Every version uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine as a range extender. The rear-wheel-drive car has a 185 kW (248 hp) motor and reaches 100 km/h in 8.5 seconds, while the dual-motor all-wheel-drive car makes 335 kW (449 hp) and needs 5.8 seconds. CLTC electric range is 210 km (130 miles) and 200 km (124 miles) respectively, with combined range of 1,240 km (771 miles) and 1,210 km (752 miles). iCar quotes 15 minutes for a 30% to 80% charge.

Driver assistance is the Falcon 700+ system on a 560 TOPS Journey 6P chip from Horizon Robotics (HKEX: 9660), with navigation assistance on urban roads and highways, cruising and parking help in underground garages and automatic evasive steering at up to 135 km/h (84 mph). The cabin has a 15.4-inch central screen on a Qualcomm QCM8538 chip with CarPlay, HiCar and Carlink phone mirroring, and keeps physical buttons below it. The front seatbacks recline flat to join the rear seats, and the front passenger seat adds a leg rest with heating, ventilation and massage.

Jetour's Traveller 7 C-DM is the bigger body, at 4,827 mm long, 2,006 mm wide and 1,875 mm tall, yet its 2,800 mm wheelbase is 20 mm shorter than the V25's. Depending on version, its CLTC electric range is 140 km (87 miles) or 251 km (156 miles), with 1,400 km (870 miles) combined. Jetour opened its pre-sale on September 23 at 159,900 to 179,900 CNY (c. $23,792 to $26,768) and cut the guide price by 7,000 CNY (c. $1,042) at both ends of the range at launch. Its launch offer bundles nine purchase benefits that Jetour values at up to 50,000 CNY (c. $7,440) in total.
The two Chery siblings split on driver assistance. The C-DM uses Huawei's Qiankun ADS 5 with an in-cabin lidar and 27 sensors, while the petrol Traveller 7 uses Falcon 500 on a Horizon Journey 6M chip. That petrol model carries a guide price of 139,900 to 179,900 CNY (c. $20,816 to $26,768) and a launch price from 125,900 CNY (c. $18,733), so the V25's price range now overlaps both Traveller 7 powertrains.

It also brushes against iCar's own lineup. The V25's 175,800 CNY top price sits above the 169,800 CNY starting price (c. $25,265) of the V27, the larger range-extended SUV iCar launched on March 13, 2026, whose entry version also uses Falcon 500. In other words, a buyer with about 170,000 CNY can now choose among a V25, a V27 and both Traveller 7 powertrains without leaving Chery.
That overlap plays out in a small domestic market for these models, because both brands send most of them abroad. Chery's filing counts 10,858 iCar sales in September, up from 10,229 in August and 1.2% above a year earlier, and that total equals the combined September wholesale of the V23 and V27. The V23 shipped 5,175 units, of which 2,368 were exported, and the V27 shipped 5,683, with 4,988 exported, so exports took 67.7% of iCar's September shipments, up from 64.8% in August.
Domestic retail was far smaller. The V23 sold 2,748 units at retail in September, up from 2,488 in August, while the V27 fell to 1,368 from 1,609. Together that is 4,116 retail sales, against 4,097 in August. The previous Jetour Traveller, which the Traveller 7 replaces, recorded September retail of 3,045, down from 3,665, while 12,438 of its 17,021 wholesale units went abroad, after 13,621 of 16,805 in August.

Both sets of figures predate the Traveller 7's October 14 launch and the V25 pre-sale. Chery Automobile's five brands reported 276,949 sales in September, 200,928 of them exports and 124,147 of them new energy vehicles, and Jetour accounted for 57,497, up 1.6% from a year earlier. iCar's year-to-date total reached 75,547, up 13.4%. Its overseas push continues: the brand will enter the UK in early 2027 as iCaur, with the V27, which uses a range-extender powertrain in other markets, as its first model.
In China, the V25 now goes after the same buyers as two Jetour powertrains and the base V27, all from one parent. The open question is whether it brings new buyers into Chery's boxy lineup, or simply splits the roughly 7,000 domestic retail sales that the V23, V27 and Traveller shared in September across one more nameplate.
Conversion rate: 1 USD = 6.7208 CNY as of October 19, 2026.
